The Mossley Academy season resumed on Monday with a visit to Ossett United and came home empty handed losing by 3 goals to nil.
Ossett started brightly and went into a 13th minute lead when the unmarked Mallender cut in from the right wing and fired into the far corner.
Ossett added to their lead when Cooper swept in from close range in the 23rd minute when Mossley failed to clear their lines from a left wing corner.
The LIlywhites gradually came into the game and Tcherno Djalo was unlucky when he shot across the home keeper and the ball hit the post, he followed this up with a terrific shot that rattled the crossbar. At this stage the home team where struggling to keep the Mossley boys at bay .
The second half showed Mossley having good possession, but then conceded a third goal after losing the ball in their own penalty area when Clarkson swept home.
The young Lilywhites continued to press, but a mixture of bad luck and poor finishing meant that Ossett took all 3 points on the day.
The Mossley boys have chance to redeem themselves when Ossett Utd are the visitors to Seel Park next week when hopefully they can take the chances that win matches.
